Sorry about the problem. We try to check all knives before they are shipped, but sometimes we goof up. You could send the knife back for replacement or I will send you another compass. The compass if easy to replace. Take the broke one out, put a spot of glue on the bottom of the new compass an put it back. Let me know what you would like to do.
